HarbourView Inn
This hotel is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. My room had the view of the harbor and a rooftop seating area. The hotel offers a cocktail hour for guests to mingle around and also milk and cookies at night. Breakfast is delivered to your room every morning.

The Griffon
Right in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, this was the perfect spot to grad a quick bite to eat after traveling all day. This casual laid-back restaurant has pub food and a variety of beer.

If you are looking for a souvenir, you need to visit the city market. There is a variety of different kinds of shops that everyone will be able to find something to bring home.

One of the most famous streets in Charleston, this street is lined with historic charming building. Take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the architecture or do some shopping at the high-end boutiques.

Unitarian Churchyard
The Churchyard is the perfect opportunity to read the stories of Charleston’s past from the moss-covered tombstones. This area is a quiet place way from the buildings of the city.

Washington Square
Take a seat in the fresh air of the park with moss filled trees. Located in the middle of downtown it’s a chance to get a break from the city.

Brown Dog Deli
A friendly and cozy sandwich shop that has some of the best sweet tea I have ever had. Being from the Midwest, I don’t drink a lot of sweet tea but if all sweet tea tasted like that I would drink that with every meal of the day.

Waterfront Park – Pineapple Fountain
One of the most recognizable landmarks of Charleston, this fountain is located right along the harbor and surrounded by beautiful oak trees lining the pathways.

Rainbow Row
One of the most photographed places in the city, these houses are all painted in vibrants colors of the rainbow. These houses represent the southern charm of the Charleston.

The Battery
Located at the tip of the city, the battery is the perfect place to walk along the water and take in the ocean breeze. Across from the battery are some impressive mansions.

White Point Garden
With stunning views of the harbor, this park hones in on its southern charm with old oak trees draped Spanish Moss. The park is filled with a variety of historic statues and monuments.

Poogan’s Smokehouse
I got the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries that were fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming.

USS Yorktown
Just across the harbor from historic Charleston, the Yorktown was the tenth air craft carrier to serve in the US Navy. I walked around the ship and also walked over to the Vietnam Experience, where you can take an immersive experience though the exhibit.

Fort Sumter
In order to get to see the fort, you will need to take a boat and tour led by the park rangers. The fort offers great views of the harbor and is an important part of Civil War history.

Ru Ru’s Tacos & Tequila
After a long day out and about in the city, who doesn’t want tacos, queso, and an ice cold margarita. The food was a nice refresh at the end of the day.

McLeod Plantation Tour
Originally a cotton plantation, the McLeod plantation is a now a living tribute to those that were enslaved on the grounds. The tour takes you around the site to reflect on history of Charleston.

Angel Oak Tree
About a 25 min drive from downtown Charleston, this tree is truly massive. It measures 65 ft tall with it’s longest limb of 28 ft. When the sun shines through the many branches, it is quite picturesque.

Melton Peter Demetre Park
Located on the other side of the harbor, this park has the perfect view to see the iconic Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge and the boats on the water. There is a small beach area to do some sea shell hunting.

Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge
This cable-stayed bridge is an engineering marvel and as a civil engineer, it’s crazy to be able to see such bridges up close. There is a path located on south side for bikes and pedestrians to cross.

Frannie & The Fox
It was our last night, so we wanted to go to some place for dinner that was little more upscale. There’s nothing more elegant than a nice Italian dish paired with a glass of wine.
